Fuerteventura, a European paradise
Kilometre after kilometre of exotic, paradisiacal beaches await you in Fuerteventura, where incomparable turquoise waters and fine sand are just two distinguishing features. This island has some of the most spectacular beaches in the Canary Islands, many of which are blue-flag certified, based on a range of criteria such as water quality, services and safety. From small coves to extensive stretches of sand such as the Corralejo Dunes, its landscapes and surroundings are sure to surprise you.
More than just beaches
In addition to sea and sand the island also offers culture, volcanoes, gastronomy, picturesque villages and a host of charming locations. The village of Betancuria has been named one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and the local island cheeses have won numerous awards, some of them international. The spectacular Tindaya volcano, the Unamumo house museum or the Casa de los Coroneles in La Oliva are just a few examples of what awaits you.
Exceptional climate
Along with the rest of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura has one of the best climates in the world, with pleasant, mild temperatures practically all year round. In general, the islands are one of the European regions offering the most hours of sunshine.
Delicious flavours of the Atlantic
The island offers a range of gastronomic delights, Majorero cheese being one of the most iconic. Coming directly from the island’s livestock farms, these cheeses have been recognised with numerous awards, including the gold medal at the World Cheese Awards. Other typical Canary Island fare includes papas arrugadas with mojo sauce or delicious desserts such as bienmesabe and gofio mousse, among others. Let yourself be seduced by a unique gastronomy!
