Servatur is founded, created by a group of Norwegian and Spanish investors dedicated to managing tourist accommodations in Gran Canaria.
The first in-house construction project is completed: Servatur Montebello, in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria.
In this decade, Servatur grows and begins to establish a strong presence in Gran Canaria, managing eight tourist resorts such as Servatur Green Beach and Servatur Terrazamar & Sunsuite, among others.
Servatur establishes a strategic alliance with Ving to primarily cater to Nordic and European tourists at its hotels.
From this decade onwards, Servatur enters a new phase of expansion and growth, marked by the acquisition of new complexes such as Servatur Waikiki, Servatur Casablanca Suites & Spa, and Servatur Puerto Azul.
Norwegian real estate entrepreneur Kai Mikaelsen acquires Servatur Hotels & Resorts.
Anders Lindvall is appointed new CEO of Servatur Hotels & Resorts.
Fredensborg, a European real estate investment company worth 30 billion euros, acquires 50% of Servatur Hotels & Resorts.
From 2021 onwards Servatur Hotels & Resorts expands its business with the acquisition of new hotels and apartments in the Canary Islands, including Servatur Caribe, being the first complex to open in Tenerife, or Servatur Alameda de Jandía, in Fuerteventura. In addition, Servatur Don Miguel, Servatur Hartaguna and Servatur Carlota are incorporated on the island of Gran Canaria.
Among the numerous refurbishment projects designed to update facilities and services in a variety of complexes, including Servatur Casablanca Suites & Spa and Servatur Hartaguna, among others, the comprehensive refurbishment of Servatur Puerto Azul, the largest in the history of Servatur Hotels & Resorts, stands out.
Servatur Puerto Azul reopens its doors after a comprehensive renovation spanning several years, transforming it into a unique product in the area.
A change in the company’s leadership appoints Michael Lund Jensen as the new CEO, highlighting his knowledge and experience of over 7 years as Commercial Director and Bussiness Development Manager of the company.
During this year, 7 new hotels join Servatur: Servatur Playa Bonita, Servatur Altamar, Servatur Altamadores, Servatur Edén & Buganvillas, Servatur Riosol, and Monte Feliz powered by Playitas. The latter is the first sports hotel in Gran Canaria introduced under the new brand, Servatur Sport Hotels.
Servatur acquires 2 new establishments in Gran Canaria: Servatur Playa Bonita, located in Playa del Inglés, and Servatur Monte Feliz, a unique complex focused on sport facilities in the destination.
Today, at Servatur Hotels & Resorts, we oversee hotels, apartments and holiday homes in the best locations in the Canary Islands. We currently have a presence in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
